Who I Am and Where I’m From

I am from the busy city streets of New York City.

I am from the colorful neighborhood of the Mission with its restaurants and people.

I am from the strong community of SF, full of change makers.

I am from the educational school of Live Oak that helps me grow. 

I am from the fun and joyful island of Fire Island. 

I am from the hope that we will work through all our problems. 

I am from the dream of going to Hawaii. 

I am from the accomplishment of graduating to middle school. 

I am from the dream of world peace.

I am from the hope of covid to end.

I am from the love of  juicy blueberries and sweet strawberries. 

I am from not eating  any meat besides chicken for 1 year. 

I am from the nostalgia of eating birthday cake.

I am from the happiness when my dad cooks.

I am from being Jewish and celebrating Hanukkah. 

I am from being Christian and celebrating Christmas. 

I am from the cool breeze of  San Diego at Thanksgiving. 

I am from going to the smooth beaches of Florida for Christmas.

I am from the silly sense of humor I have and use. 

I am from the weirdness of my behavior and habits. 

I am from the kindness and respect I give to my friends.

I am from the enthusiasm of playing and having fun. 

I am from the love of chillin’ and chillaxing. 

I am from the quick and unprepared improvisation that I use in my life.

I am from the beauty of glistening beaches and sparkling oceans. 

I am from the horrific and sorrowful effects of climate change. 

I am from the care, respect, and love  that is all around us.

I am from the disrespect and hatred that shapes our world.

I am from the kindness that is given by everyone and everything.
