Who I Am

I am from the lemon tree

that never did grow lemons,

From the plant by the window

still hoping for sunlight,

I am from the house

that is almost 100 years old,

And the floating stairs

that took almost 2 years to replace,

I am from the pine trees in our backyard

whose branches sprinkle us

with pine needle confetti,

From my little brother Cooper

who always said specific wrong

And the horseshoe necklace

hanging by my bed.
