I am from a happy fun home

And not too big but perfect

I am from a palm tree

That whistles when the wind is strong

I am from the tree

Of the Ellenbergs and the Spears

I am from hustle and motivation

And from basketball, from football

I am from my dad’s broken finger

I  am from my Uncle Viy and my Uncle Luwy 

from pasta chicken and gumbo 

from the grey elephant 

and from when my dad took me and my mom to a hotel 

My dad’s ashes 

I am from those moments I had with my dad
