Urban Hikes Along Dirty Streets

I am from urban hikes along dirty streets with my dad while I dread taking another step, because my legs hurt.

I am from the day changing from sunny warm weather to grey dark skies because that’s how San Francisco is.

I am from my hamster running on the wheel like she’s running a marathon, while my zoom class runs in the background, not distracting me but it’s definitely there.

I am from whining  because I can feel my skin sizzling with sweat because it’s so hot outside in my home city San Francisco.

Even though I’m just walking I’m still sweating and dreaming I was home with the AC on in my bedroom.

I am from neighborhood cats sunbathing on my stoop outside my house.

I am from eating steaming hot savory bratwurst in the freezing snow.

I am from snacking on blueberries at 9:00 at night without anyone noticing.

I am from putting an apple in my bag while walking out the front door.

I am from chaotic stressful summer plans every year with my whole family, it’s busy but I love it.

I am from insane boring political discussion making me angry because of all the yelling and red faces.

Where it’s the whole family against one trump supporter during family reunions.

I am from going to Switzerland during a green stormy summer.

I am from many future careers flowing through my head.

I am from wanting to be a CEO,

I am from  busy chatting in my dad’s office while his co-workers sip coffee in the morning.

I am from an inspiring dad,who is the CEO of a life changing company, who always puts others before himself.

I from wanting to be successful when I grow up.

I am from hate crimes around the city, and around the world it angers me.

I am from raging fires that make people feel abandoned because of evacuation. The fires race across the world.

I am from talking a lot because I like to share my knowledge and I’m very curious.

I am from being annoying to my siblings and friends.

I am from Makayla telling me “your funny Angie” and from my teacher

Malika telling me “you’re not annoying.”

 This is where I’m from.
