The Twin Giants

I am from the twin giants that rise above the city,

I am from looking over the city and watch the golden sun reflect onto my beautiful bay,

I am from watching as the sun sets over the bridge that sheds such happiness,

I am from listening to kids playing in the afternoon,

I am from a sunny hill in the middle of San Fran watching the sunset.

I am from biking across a bridge and down a hill,

I am from cruising on a zipline as high as you can possibly imagine,

I am from wanting to go higher,

I am from being the bigger man and doing what’s right,

I am from wanting to be listened to more often.

I am from eating seafood on the piers,

I am from eating waffles on lazy mornings,

I am from getting toast from the best every school day,

I am from eating oily latkes on Chanukah nights,

I am from eating gelt after winning in dreidel over my brother who doesn’t know how to gamble,

I am from my mom making new salmon recipes that have such a delightful smell.

I am from playing dreidel on Chanukah to seeking out the matzah on Passover,

I am from eating challah on Friday night to watching The Office on Friday nights,

I am from getting up at 6:30 am on Saturday and biking the bridge,

I am from playing on a dead-end street and kids yelling during a nerf gun battle.

I am from coming home from school and taking a nice warm shower.
