Timid Timmy gets up every morning at 6:00 and starts his daily routine. It’s also where our story starts. He gets up and eats his breakfast, normally cereal. Even though Timid Timmy doesn’t like talking, he still has lots of opinions. He has trouble articulating words, so that’s why he doesn’t talk a lot.
“Hello, Sunshine!” says Talkative Tammy.
Oh! I forgot to mention, Timid Timmy isn’t always solo. He has one friend, Talkative Tammy. They are pretty much brother and sister, since both of their parents died, and they live together. Timmy looks at the time and realizes it’s time to go to the market, his least favorite place. He hates going, because that’s where bullies hang out. Timmy picks up his backpack and some money and heads to the store. He always goes around the store and through the back, because the bullies hang out in the front. Timmy turns the corner and… there is construction blocking the backway entrance. All of a sudden, Timmy gets wary, realizing he has to go through the front. He slowly starts walking, and when he reaches the front, he can hear snickers coming from all around him. He rushes into the store. He buys what he needs for dinner: tomato sauce and spaghetti noodles. He wants to get home as soon as possible. He runs out of the store, walking at a fast pace.
“Going anywhere, Timmy?”
Timmy stops in his tracks and starts to shake. He doesn’t want to mess with the bullies.
“I said, you going anywhere, Timmy?”
“I don’t want no trouble.”
Timmy continues to walk. There’s a bully behind him. He looks up, and there’s also one in the distance. All of a sudden, he gets tripped. Tomato sauce comes out of the can. Spaghetti is raining down. He falls on the floor and looks around. Everyone is quiet. Uh oh. He looks down at one of the bullies shoes and sees it’s covered in tomato sauce. The bullies, without talking, close in on Timmy. Timmy decides to do something he will regret: he runs away. He goes through a gap in between the bullies and runs faster than he ever has before. They take turns around buildings but, eventually, Timmy loses them. He starts walking home, and when he gets there, he sees the bullies standing right outside. Looks like he is sleeping on the streets tonight. He is too scared to think about anything else, so he just lays down on the street and closes his eyes. He doesn’t remember having any dreams, but when he wakes up, his worst nightmare has occurred. He is surrounded by the bullies, and this time, they make sure he isn’t going to escape. They look down on him and glower.
“Thought you could hide forever? Huh?”
Best not to say anything, Timmy thinks.
“Hopefully this punch will teach you better than to mess with us.”
It’s when Timmy’s life changed. As the bully was getting ready to punch, what nobody saw was that Tammy was running from the side. The bully moved his arm back and swung it forward. Timmy closed his eyes, anticipating pain, but none came. Then he heard crying and opened his eyes. There, right on his knees, was Tammy, her nose crooked and bleeding.
“What did you do to her?” Timmy started yelling and screaming for help.
“Yo! We gotta get out of here!”
Then the bullies ran off, leaving Timmy screaming for help, while Tammy cried in his arms. He looked down at Tammy and suddenly, he felt groggy.
He didn’t remember going home, or sleeping, but here he was, in his bed. His face was covered in dried tears, and he was still sniveling from yesterday. His clothes had some blood on them. Timmy was no longer timid. Timmy wanted revenge. He would avenge his friend. When he went to the market that day, it felt like everything was different. The bullies scattered away from him. He didn’t care, it didn’t make a difference. One day, when he was ready, he would strike, and the bullies wouldn’t even know what hit them.
The End
