Lots of people around the world watch sports and find happiness from watching them. Some people around the world like watching soccer and their national team win the World Cup or like in hockey when your favorite hockey team wins the Stanley Cup and makes you super happy. Watching sports can make you happy but, in my opinion, playing the sport can make you really happy. Even though the difference between playing a sport and watching a sport is that you are sitting on a couch doing nothing but watching and listening to the game, but when you are playing a sport you are active, NOT sitting on a couch (cause it would be very weird to have a couch during a basketball game). That is why sports bring me and other people around the world joy.
Basketball brings me joy because my friends and I have fun playing the sport just for the fun of it. When your running up and down the as fast as can bouncing the ball in your hands, hoping that you are about to make the game-winning shot there is 5 seconds left until recess ends you drive up to basket, make the ball hit off of the backboard and it goes in you win the game, you and your teammates jump up into the air in excitement and chest bump each other.
I enjoy practice too, even if we are putting on the competition it means everything, when you are running up and down the court as fast as you can just run faster than you do in practices and most games, and you jump up to their defender and smack the ball out of his hands and the crowd goes wild cheering your name in the background. You are so joyful that you just blocked the point for the other team.
Losing in basketball is terrible because when you lose in basketball your not happy your angry that you just spent all of this time running up and down the court for half of an hour for nothing and you lose by 20. All of that hard work and running drills you had done has to lead to nothing. You’re angry you thought you were going to win but then you lose, and that is one of the hardest things to cope with in basketball is losing. But when you learn how to cope with losing you get better at sportsmanship and sportsmanship is also a very hard thing to learn in basketball, But when you have learned sportsmanship and how to deal with losing you have learned 2 important things one of them is one of the hardest to learn in basketball and two is why I love basketball and why it brings me joy.
