Chapter one

Annie sighs as she puts down her book. She looks at the sunny and cloudless sky and sighs again and wishes for a sister like she does all the time. 

Annie put her book back up to her face. All the girls and boys in her books all have siblings but her life is reality and the books are all fake so that could not be her point next time she tries to convince her parents to get her a sister (which like never ever works when she tries to even though she thinks she makes very good points.)

In the book she was reading it had a mirror at the end of it so that you could look every day to see yourself as a princess. Annie marked her page and flipped her 378 page book to the very end and looked at herself in the mirror. Annie had long wavy blonde hair and bright blue eyes. 

When she was ten months old someone had found her in a church wrapped in a blanket and she was brought to a local orphanage and stayed there until she was one year old then her new parents found her and they adopted her. 

They had no record of her parents. They tried everything but they had no luck. The only thing that the baby had with her other than underwear, blanket and a beanie she was wearing was her necklace. It said Annie in the front and a bunch of initials on the back they read J.S. M.S. A.S. No one had any answers.

 Back in Ariel Anna walks down the stairs with her father and they are talking very loudly, more like arguing. Anna keeps saying “but why” and her father just replies “because.”                                                                  

Soon they reach the end of the stairs and Anna’s mother joins the conversation. Now Anna knows that with her mom in the conversation she does not stand a chance. But she decides to try anyway 

“Ok dad we are restarting this conversation mom dad I want a sister” Her mom immediately says no then starts to say something else but Anna’s dad gives her that look that says be quiet right now or you will pay and she stops short. “What was that about” Anna asks her

“Nothing nothing” her mom says in a fake soothing voice. But then the mom no way look crosses her face again “Anna you are not getting a sister so stop asking” Anna does not say anything but inside she is screaming and yelling at her mom and dad

“Why can’t i have a sister i really want one and i am really lonely all you guys do all day is work and work and work”

A yell from the kitchen takes Anna out of her little thought about yelling at her parents. 

“What’s wrong” her mom yells frantically. Her mom and dad both run out of the room and into the kitchen. Anna touches her necklace which has her name on it at the same time Annie touches her necklace that is identical except that hers has her name on it. 

They put their hands on the necklace at the same time the necklace seems to get hotter and both girls take their hands off it just before they get a burn.

Anna walks more like runs to her room then slams the door and gets really quiet. Anna sits on her bed then goes back to her full body mirror Anna has longish blonde hair and bright blue eyes just like her father. She looks like a princess.

Except she was not wearing a gown with lace and silk instead it was a white simple flowy dress made for her to wear in the summer. She flops back down on her bed. She thinks about being the princess. Why am I the princess and not someone else? How she longs to be a normal girl.

Chapter two

The next day Anna gets up from the breakfast table quickly she is mad at her parents for not letting her have a sister.

Once she gets up from the table she wanders around the big house that they live in. Anna’s parents are the king and queen of Ariel the country made up of islands Anna is the princess. No one in her family ever wanted to rule in a castle so they lived in a big house that all of Anna’s family had lived in before her.

 Anna keeps wandering in till she gets to her room. She flops down on her bed and looks around her big room. She has pictures of all her favorite singers and actors. She has photos of her friends from school. Then Anna’s parents walk in to tell her some good news 

“We are going on an vacation” her mom says

“Yes we are Anna we are gonna go to Colorado” her dad says

“Really really we are going to Colorado why Colorado when should I pack are we really going to Colorado” Anna says

“yes dear” her mom says “we are leaving tomorrow so pack up what you think you need

Her parents leave the room and Anna gets to packing “Colorado” she says why are we going to colorado why not say… New York? She thinks

Back in Colorado where Annie lives. Annie looks down at her necklace and thinks about how she was adopted and the necklace is the only thing she has of her parents. Where are my parents now she thinks. She wonders if they are in Colorado and she wonders if they are alive. 

Back in her parents room they are thinking the same thing. “John?…”

“Yes dear”

“Do you… you know… do you think that Annie’s real parents might be alive and looking for her?”

“Mary Mary maybe but why are you thinking that”

“I… i guess i am just wondering if annie would be happier if we could possibly find her birth mother and father”

“That is silly Mary very very silly besides we already tried our best to find her parents but we could not so we are her parents now and we will always be ok?”

“I… I guess so” silence Annie had heard her parents talking and went into there room

“Dear what made you think of that”

“Think of what dad” annie said as she plopped down on her parents bed “whatcha talking about” Her mom gave a look to her dad like he had told annie to leave the house and become a model or something

 “nothing” she said coldly “what are you even here for remember we talked about knocking” 

“Uh sorry dad told me to get him a drink”

“Oh sorry annie dear but please remember to knock next time”

“Ok mom bye”

As she shut the door her parents started to talk again she had a weird feeling to listen through the door she forced herself to her room quietly she shut the door wat was so important that whatever that was happened.

Chapter three

The next morning Anna and her parents board the plane to go to colorado. Anna still wonders why they choose Colorado so she asks them and there answer is “we thought that we all deserve a change of scenery you know mountains are much different from the beaches at Ariel”

That seems like a good reason to Anna but her parents are not telling the truth they want to go to Colorado because that is where their other daughter lives and they are hoping that they will get to see her.

Anna had never really been on a plane before she had been when she was one year old but she could not remember that time now it had been years since it had happened she looked around the plane. What she saw was so wonderful there was a vending machine with candy And chips and there was a super soft blanket and a neck pillow under her seat there was a T.V. With all her favorite movies. She sat back put a pillow on her neck and turned on the T.V

The plane landed before they know it and soon they are in their rental car zooming off towards the home that they rented out for their stay.

Anna leaves to go explore the mall and mountain that they are near. While she is out her Parents wonder of they made the right choice in sending there other daughter to a different family because when they were born there was a war and to keep their children safe they had there other daughter Annie go to another family in colorado after a while they settle on that they made the right choice just in time to at that moment Anna walks through the door and does not hear a word.

Chapter four

For dinner Anna and her mom and dad decided to go to one of the most famous restaurants in colorado called the stew pot.

They had no idea but Annie’s family was gonna go there too.. 

Anna and Annie both touch their necklaces at the Same time and like before it gets really hot and both girls take their hands off before their hands get burnt. This happens a lot and both of the girls are puzzled but it so they both ask their parents.

Anna asks her dad “dad” she say 

“What my dear what” her dad says

“You know my necklace that has my name on it well sometimes when i touch it it gets really really hot and it almost burns me do you know what is happening”

Her dad hesitates “then says no” but her dad is lying whenever his twins touch the necklace at the same exact time it will get really really hot and if they kept their hands on it a little longer they would be able to feel each other’s fingers.

Annie asks her mom there conversation went something like this “mommy mommy”

“Yes dear? What do you need? is something wrong?”

“How come sometimes when I touch my necklace it feels really hot like I am gonna burn myself?”

“I do not know my dear” says her mom and this time she really does not know.

Both family’s leave for the restaurant and get seated. The families are at the same restaurant but do not see each other. They order and then start waiting for the food.

Chapter five

Right before Anna gets her food she leaves to go to the bathroom. As Anna goes, Annie sees her and decides to follow her. As Annie walks in the bathroom having said that she had to go she waits for the girl who she saw walking in.

Anna starts to open the door and Annie frantically starts to wash her hands to make it look like she had been there for a while.

“Hi” she says very quietly “Hi” she says louder now.

“What oh.. hi?” 

“Hi I… really like your um necklace” annie says is a small voice that seems so far away

“Oh hey thanks, I like yours too can i see it up close?”

“Sure I guess why?” She really does not want anyone to touch it

“It looks like mine!” “What a minute where did you get that?”

“Oh… you see I am adopted. It is the only thing that I have of my parents. I don’t even know there names. The adoption center has no record of my parents”. “Hey you look a lot like me we have the same hair the same freckles even the same necklace and almost the same names”

Anna is frozen on the spot “are you ok?” Annie asks nervously Anna is still not moving

“Um… um… um I…” Anna says shakily 

“What What! are you alright should I go get your parents!!!!”

“No” Anna whispers “let me see the back of your necklace”

“Why” “the necklace is really special to me”

“NOW” Anna says annie backs away from the strange girl thinking annie go away from her she must have some problem go annie go and tell your parents! But even though the voice in her head was strong her curiosity was stronger.

“Oh i am sorry i didn’t mean to scare you” Anna says in a very gentle and kind voice “i just… please let me look at your necklace” “please please”

“Um i… ok” “just don’t ruin it” 

“I KNEW IT” 

This catches annie off guard “what”

“You see those letters on the back right? Right?” Annie nods “what is your name”

“Annie” “what’s yours” 

“Anna” Annie you are a princess your are my sister!!”

“WHAT”

“Yes i am the princess of arial that country made up of island do you know that” annie opens her mouth to speak but Anna cuts her off “my necklace has my my name on the front and my Initials on the back With my parents initials in my mom’s initials and somebody else’s initials that was the exact same as mine except it had a different middle name it’s yours and when I looked at yours I saw that that well yours it had your initials it had my issues and I have my parents initials you’re my sister you’re my sister’’

“What what what what WHAT. no way i have wanted a sister for sooooooooooooo long and I have a twin!!!! That is soooooooooooooo amazing you know what we could do you could go as me and you could finally get a break from being a princess and i could go with your parents and well you could go to mine.

“That would be awesome but i would miss my mom and dad” “what about that”

“I was really just joking but now that i think about it it seems like a really good yet horrible thing” 

“I know that it why we should do it”

“Ok great. To answer your question we would switch back and i could get your number and you could get mine and well well i could text you this is gonna be so much fun!!”

“Well i guess lets go change now. Here’s my number”

“Here’s mine give me your clothes your shoes and your hair thing”

“Here this is gonna be sooooooo much fun” annie nods in approval before she goes into a stall holding her twin sisters clothes” 

They get out and look exactly like each other “do you know what this reminds me of?” Anna shakes her head “it reminds me of the parents trap”

“ i know right at least we both have earrings i do not want to pierce your ears” And from the look of disgust in Anna’s face she knew that Anna felt the same way

Wow annie thought this will be fun i can’t wait to see how it turns out

They left the bathroom switched giving each other a thumbs up they separated knowing that they would see each other again soon and went off to different tables to explore different lives.

Chapter six

The next day Annie poses and Anna goes home to Ariel and Anna posing as Annie goes back to Annie’s home. Annie loves to read but Anna not so much. When Annie got back to Ariel she found many books in Anna’s room that looked untouched so she started to read them. Anna’s parents realized that this was really weird because Anna usually Does not read that much but they just went along with it.

Back in Colorado Anna really did not like reading but like we said Annie loved it. Anna just did not read and Annie’s parents thought it was weird but like Anna parents they just let it be.

A week later on Friday night as Annie went to bed she brought out her phone and started to text Anna telling her everything she and her parents had done over the week that had been switched and Anna told annie. Once Annie put the phone down and got into Annas silk nightgown she found that book with the mirror. And she just looked at herself in that mirror she had been a princess for a week she got out one of the crowns made out of gold and silver and Ruby’s she really was a princess 

She thought about how she missed her parents; they were so far away. With these thoughts she drifted of to sleep

Days passed and Anna’s parents were really weirded out by the whole reading thing so they decided that when Annie went to bed they would sneak up on her and see if she had the necklace that her parents gave to her and her twin all those years ago.

But naturally the twins thought that their necklaces were too special to take off so Annie was still wearing hers.

So that night after annie had gone to bed Anna dad and mom went to her room her dad walked quietly to her bed and looked at her necklace and got up speechless he walked over to his wife just standing there with a shocked look in his face

“What is it, what is it, are you ok what happened??”

“Anna’s… her…the… Anna’s necklace is not… Anna’s it… it… it… is…is…Annie’s”

“WHAT”

“Yes it is our other daughter”

Both parents were so surprised that they were quiet all the way to their room they got into bed and drifted off to sleep.

The same thing happened to Annie’s parents but it was a little different. This is what happened.

Annie’s mom and dad noticed that “Annie” was not reading at all and their little girl always read. So that night they snuck into Annie’s room while she was sleeping and they saw that the necklace said Anna on it.

They walked to there room sat on there bed both could not talk finally Annie’s dad said “it has to be her twin or something her name is Anna  not annie we were right something was wrong IT WAS THE WRONG GIRL HOW COULD WE BE SO STUPID WE ARE SUPOSSED TO BE HER PARENTS” annie mom nodded she lay down on the bed still fully dressed and fell asleep

The next morning Anna’s parents shared the news and told Annie that she will have to go home in a week. The same with annie.

Annie had to give Anna’s parents her parents phone number so that they could meet. 

A week later back in Colorado Annie’s parents stood outside on their porch waiting for Annie to arrive. When they came the girls ran to meet each other they talked and talked about the adventures they had had with the wrong parents. When it was time to go both girls were crying and avoiding their parents’ eyes.

Once Anna had left annie ran up to her room her parents followed “what’s wrong” her mom asked

“I think you know that girl is my sister and those people are my family and why and I am not going with them. I am there daughter and their sister” Annie turned away and her parents had no choice but to leave the room.

A week later her parents had made a big decision “annie we are moving to Ariel you are right those people are your family we talked with your mom and dad and we are all gonna live in there house”

“Really really really i my god thanks so so so much I love you so much yay”

ONE YEAR LATER

“Alright girls i think we are all settled her once and for all” annie adoption parents said

The to girl squealed and ran up to there rooms in that big house in arial that now had not just one princess but two

AND THEY ALL LIVED HAPPILY EVER AFTER
