Sleeping Havoc

Nothing happened until here I am, I slipped out of my bed and I was really tired. It just turned midnight, so it was pitch black outside, perfect. I  cautiously headed towards the vent, it was quite big, I slid in trying not to be seen. Before I got caught last time, this time I remembered to be extra vigilant. I did it Covertly, no scene of anything anywhere. I put the vent cover back on and continued going down the vent. The darkness filled the vent.

I had never known there was a room that I didn’t know about until I got out of bed two days ago, my parents went in a room where there were guards, Me against guards that have so much training. It took me a minute to calculate the amount of time but it was five hours twenty three minutes. I was assuming they were still there. I continued into the vent, it was dark and creepy but my determination was keeping me going. I saw light. I turned around the corner, just then my knee slipped, I crushed my elbow, and lastly probably broke my chest, and fell through the vent, a guard was in there and I was hanging by my two hands, I almost fell. It wasn’t the hidden room, through that I would just quit. I pulled back up as hard as could, I got up and almost fell back through the vent again. I slipped into the darkness.”That was close” I immediately said. Something was blurting a noise and to admit I was kinda scared when I’d been living here for years and years it just didn’t make sense.

I continued  into the vents and turned a corner. They  were quite misty.  I crawled farther and fell. Yes I fell. Luckily I hit a mattress and I bounced. I could not tell who was in the bed even though I almost fell on them. They turned around. I dashed. If I got caught I would be grounded for months. I hid behind the curtain and slowly tiptoed to the door. Once I got out I heard footsteps. They were coming from the left side of the hall. Yet again, I took off. I sprinted to the right side. I saw a vent and scrambled towards it. I got in, put the vent cover back on and waited. Three guards emerged from the darkness. I crawled backwards a bit and something made a crack sound.  All three guards suddenly turned where I was. They seemed petrified, but I didn’t know if that was true.

I went down the vent and crawled around for a bit. Nothing was happening. I continued crawling until I plummeted down on the floor. The room I entered was lit up, but also very dim. I got up and walked around, being really cautious and careful. If there even was a room that I apparently haven’t known about I would know it wouldn’t be one without traps. So I made my way around, and a guard appeared. He didn’t seem to see me, though If I moved he would 100% would. I waited until he trotted to the other side of the room. When he did I made a break for it and I slid and slammed myself into a wall, under a bed. It sure hurt, but it was a great hiding spot. As soon as I made that sound the guard was on board, and ready. I was trying to keep still but I was too scared. After all this I realized I was in my pajamas this whole time. Of course.

After I made it out of that room, I creeped down the hallway  until I found a vent to get in. I got in and went into the darkness. There was a sudden wall and the options were only left or right. I chose left and  turned a corner there was light so I peeked in and saw guards playing a card game. The one on the left was winning. Then it was a dead end, so I turned around and headed back down. After I got to the spot with the split, I went right  this time and I crawled along the wall until I found light. For a while I didn’t see any light, but there were no dead ends. After what I thought was about an hour I found some sort of dim lighting, like you weren’t supposed to see it. Luckily I spotted it and I peeked in and I saw something quite interesting, there was a thing giving off thick mist, which was really odd. The thing was taking the shape of a treasure chest. I slipped through the vent and landed on the floor gracefully, trying not to make a noise. I looked in and there were coins I one up and a new one appeared. “Is this non-ending!?” I whispered.  I took the coin and put it in my pocket and an alarm got triggered. I dashed to a large table, climbed up and jumped into the vent and put it back on. “ That was close” I whispered.
