Señor Sullen sat frowning at the desk at his therapy office, Crabby Counselors Therapy, where Señor Sullen was one of the therapists. The problem with his job was that Señor Sullen was the most bad-tempered therapist you could find in the whole world; Señor Sullen was named sullen for a reason.
Señor Sullen woke up everyday and had the same routine. Señor Sullen would always wake up very grumpy to the sad faced clowns painted on his office walls. Señor Sullen would make some tasteless oatmeal and sit in his depressing office. Señor Sullen would watch the news and cry for no reason and just be sullen.
As you can tell, Señor Sullen was a very sullen and gloomy man. Monday morning was the first day of work. Señor Sullen always dreaded Mondays because Señor Sullen had to deal with his first patient who was recently fired, Dr. Inundated.
Dr. Inundated (who was always overwhelmed with things to do), would come in at 8:00 am- to 8:30 sharp because he was always busy for the rest of the day. Dr. Inundated started to rush into his session, “Hello Señor Sullen! I only have 30 minutes today because I have many errands to run, and I have a phone call, and I have a ballet to go to, and I have to pick up my kids from school, and I have to…”
“STOP!” Shouted Señor Sullen. He couldn’t take Dr. Inundated’s stress any more. Señor Sullen was already in bad enough of a mood. “You are so stressful! Get out of my office! I can’t take you anymore! No wonder you were fired; you are so overwhelming!” cried Señor Sullen.
Now Señor Sullen was really angry, more angry then normal. As soon as Señor Sullen said this Dr. Inundated ran out of the room stating the million things he inundates himself with. Señor Sullen started to weep. Like I said Señor Sullen can be very moody, and his daily crying came early this morning.
As the tears stopped pouring out of Señor Sullens eyes, his next patient knocked at the door. “What do you want,” Señor Sullen said rudely. It was Officer Irksome, the worst patient of them all because Officer Irksome was so annoying. Officer Irksome came wandering in, touching all of Señor Sullen’s prized possessions like his globe of the saddest places on Earth, and award for being the most bad tempered at college. “Stop touching my things, and don’t be so annoying,” Señor Sullen said.
“I don’t care. If you want me to stop you have to come and get me,” taunted Officer Irksome. Señor Sullen got up to chase Officer Irksome so he would sit down, but all Officer Irksome did was run away from him. “Come and get me,” Officer Irksome giggled while running away from Señor Sullen in a very annoying way. At this point Señor Sullen was out of breathe from chasing Officer Irksome, and Señor Sullen started to sulk.
“Pleaseee stop! UH, I HATE MY JOB!,” cried Señor Sullen. But all Officer Irksome did was just irritate Señor Sullen even more.
It was the middle of the day and Señor Sullen was in his usual awful mood and wanted to go home. Suddenly Wary Winston (who was always very cautions and who was the manager at Crabby Counselors Therapy) came in with another person. “Uh hello Señor Sullen,” he said shakily, looking scared of Señor Sullen. “This is our new head therapist Mr. Mitigate, who is always making things better. I’m sorry but you have been fired. We have received very many complaints about how you are always in a bad mood, and we really think Mr. Mitigate is perfect for the job because is always fixing and helping people,” Said Wary Winston.
“Yes, hi I’m Mr. Mitigate, and I would happily help you find a new job,” Mr Mitigate said trying to fix the situation. But all Señor Sullen did was cry and weep. Señor Sullen stormed out of the room.
For weeks, all Señor Sullen did was cry. Señor Sullen never went outside. He was extremely moody and didn’t feel like seeing anyone. But one day, Mr. Mitigate (who was always making things better) knocked at Señor Sullen’s door. Señor Sullen especially hated Mr. Mitigate because he stole his job.
“Uh you, what do you want,” mumbled Señor Sullen.
“I just wanted to check on you. People have been worried. We haven’t seen you in weeks!” Replied Mr.Mitigate softly.
“Because you stole my job, and now I have nothing! Please go away!” Señor Sullen said in a sulky voice.
“I want to help you. I’m offering free therapy sessions for you tomorrow at 10:00 am, and hopefully I can help you find a new job,” offered Mr. Mitigate. For once Señor Sullen wasn’t in a bad mood. Mr. Mitigate was there to help Señor Sullen and make his situation better. Señor Sullen nodded and considered going to the therapy session.
After Señor Sullen’s therapy sessions, he was doing much better. Señor Sullen was more happy and less often in a bad mood. Now he had a job at Sad Slush, his favorite slushie place, and served slushies to people more like him. Señor Sullen decided to be less moody and bad tempered for the rest of his life. He marched to court to change his name to Sometimes Sullen. Sometimes Sullen still had a moody and sullen attitude, but he was changing and becoming happier and good tempered.
