Introduction
Oprah Winfrey has touched the lives of many people. Oprah has seen the difference of people and the light or dark of people. I will tell you a story about Oprah Winfrey!
Early Years
Oprah Winfrey was born in Kosciusko, Mississippi on January 29, 1954. When she was born she got sent away from her mom and dad to live on her grandmother’s farm. She was taught how to read and write by her grandmother. She even skipped kindergarten and first grade because she was so smart. Oprah used to go to church with her grandmother each week to read bible verses. Oprah faced some challenges in school. When she went to kindergarten she was getting pushed around because she was black and the other kids were white. But one day she said, “I don’t think I belong here,” and her teacher agreed so she skipped kindergarten and first grade. At the age of six Oprah was told to go back to her mother, but Oprah did not want to go back. She did not want to leave her grandmother.
Life as as Adult
When Oprah Winfrey was older she had a talk show. One day on her talk show it was Christmas in South Africa. Oprah gave food, clothing, athletic shoes, books, and toys for Christmas to the people in South Africa. Oprah Winfrey is still living today, and continues to give to people around the world.
Accomplishments
Oprah Winfrey had a lot of accomplishments, and she uses kindness to help people understand one another. Oprah’s TV show raised a lot of money for people who were in need.
Conclusion
Oprah Winfrey persisted by not giving up on people who don’t have as much money as rich people. Oprah also persisted by not giving up even though no one was there to support her. She became known as a changemaker by helping people all around the world.
