My Extremely Pinkalicious I Am From Poem

I am from green rolling hills that sparkle with the metal houses and apartments that San Francisco presents.

I am from quiet streets in the morning and loud streets in the  afternoon.

It sounds like a cafe that has a slight morning rush and an even bigger afternoon rush.

I am from waking up and smelling the amazing savory but sweet cinnamon and apples being stewed in a pot on the stove.

I am from a place with many diverse communities and very delicious restaurants and places to eat.

I am from wanting to become a vet when I grow up so I can help

I am from ordering sushi and getting better at holding chopsticks each time.

I am from my family members stomping up the stairs and waking me up in the morning even if I’m already awake.

I am from waking up in the morning and thinking about everything that the day might have for me.

I am from blasting 80’s music while we’re making dinner and screaming into a spatula (a spatula we won’t use of course).

I am from always having burritos on Wednesdays (which I always finish)

I am from turning on the Great British Bake off and being surprised about all the very neat and  decorated cakes.

When you see the cakes, you wonder how someone could ever make something like that. With jelly art, hazelnut spikes, roses and all kinds of flowers.

I am from realizing I have soccer practice and dreading the hours ahead.

I am from landing in New York and waiting for our grandparents light blue Lexus to pull up and then driving to a quiet roundabout street.

I am from being scared to go on spinny rides with strangers at the fair because who knows when one guy is about to hurl?

I am from having a sick feeling after the ferris wheel and looking down on all the people from above.

I am from walking on Fair Oaks to trick-or-treat and admiring all the witches and goblins walking past.

I am from “NATALIE TOUCHED MY FOOT” car trips.

I am from people telling me “your eyelashes are long”.

I am from buying AND eating spicy food and keeping a straight face.

I am from hearing my sister talking about a pet almost every week.

I am from wanting  to go to an Ariana Grande concert but then being too lazy to actually go.

I am from drinking tea and sitting by the fireplace reading a book with thick pages lined with little letters spelling big words.

I am from silent laughter when one of our family members falls or gets hurt.

I am from finding happiness in the littlest things.

This is where I am from.
