The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines music as “science or art of ordering tones or sounds of succession.” However, music is way more than this. People think all you have to do is just hit notes and stuff. No. You have to make vibration to have sound you need to have sound to have music you need to have music to have joy!
Music makes people happy! Music can make people happy because whenever you have a party the thing that gets you going is either the music or karaoke. Sometimes music gets so close to me the beat replicates my heartbeat . Especially when I’m sad. It can get me back on my feet. One fact is music floods the brain with a chemical called dopamine. Dopamine is a chemical in the brain associated with luxury, motivation and reward. One time we were at our New Years Eve party and they finally let me play a song. I played that one perfect song everybody was happy and having a good time.
Music can also be very inspiring. If you listen to the lyrics hard enough you can hear the story that the music is telling you. It can inspire you. Music can not just inspire you it can lead you to a whole career you can be a songwriter, singer, recorder and many more. It can also inspire your body to move, dance, jump, paint and draw. “Art and music are like a pillow and blanket”-Reggie Payne a new generation musician and artist 2019 newsela. One time I was in the car with my mom and she played a song and it inspired me to stand up for myself. The song was tupac, Gotta keep your head up!
Music is a super power. For some people music comes easy to them, like my Dad he’s a musician. He doesn’t need to read sheet music or notes. He can just hear the song and he can play it on ANY instrument. Music is a gift not a “thing” Music is magic not sounds, the reason why I added this is sometimes people don’t know what music really means and i feel like this quote by me tells the world what music actually means. I can’t live without music!
I love learning new things about music, especially when I am playing the instrument it makes me feel so alive. When my dad teaches me new chords on the accordion I feel so alive! One time my dad was helping me learn a scale on the piano. Once I found out the pattern to the scale it made me feel like I was Thanos!
To finish off my essay I want to leave you with a quote by ray charles “My music had roots which I’d dug up from my own childhood, musical roots buried in the darkest soil”-Ray Charles a blind pianist he was born in 1930 and died on june10, 2004. If you have no idea what ray charels is trying to say. I think what Ray Charles was trying to say was that he learned how to play by his heart and gut but not by his eyes.
