Places that are loud but quiet

Sunny but dark

I am from a place with people of many different shapes sizes and even colors

I am from a creative home with bright colors and loud music that bounces off the walls 

Soundings like a wave crashing into your ears

Paper flying and balloons popping

I am from a place that can be cloudy and rainy one day and beaming with rainbows the next

I am from fast food on a lazy day

I am from a place that can be scary but funny

Family jokes that make you giggle till you can’t breathe

Small spiders creepy crawling up and down your sleeve

I am from a place with multiple people hanging all around 

Inside this place is another place

A place that is dangerous 

Pitch black  with the strong smell of smoke

A place that goes quiet at night with only the sound of whispering crickets 

I am from a place that is clever and quick 

I am from a place I lived some of my life in 

This place inside a place is Oakdale

The place I was grown into my first two years of my life 

The place where my father’s”life was taken

Me being to young to realize that he was really gone

I am from a big place

A place called San Francisco 

I am from junk art and paint all over my face

I am from failing then passing a test

I am from dreaming from when I wake up in my bed by the time I go to sleep

I am from hoping for good wealth and maybe even a healthy baby

I am from dreaming to be a rich business women 

I am from dreaming to have my own house

I am from hoping for lots of money for my birthday 

I am from hoping for shoes on Christmas 

All different types of brands

I am from a warm stove in the kitchen 

I am from many spices in the cabinet

I am from hours of shopping for groceries and then cooking the perfect meal

I am from being hungry 

I am from certain family food traditions

The smell of macaroni on a stove

I am from being known as confident

I am from people saying I’m too honest/ brutally honest

I am from people saying I’m a liar

I am from people talking bad about me behind my back thinking I’m not gonna find out and do something about it

I am from being strong minded

I am from being loyal

I am from people telling my I’m disrespectful

People telling me I am very respectful

I am from being told I am mature for my age

I am from being mistaken as older than I am

I am from a spilled mess on the floor

I am from a cold world

A world full of race issues

A world full of violence

A world that’s uneven

A world that has no balance

A world that’s happy but sad

A world that safe but most of the time dangerous
