And gazing out a window

I am from a big family, and a place to learn

I am from hoping that COVID-19 is over 

And from hoping for everything to go back to normal

I am from holiday meals, boba 

And family cooking 

I am from my Chinese food, Burmese food

And bags of junk food

I am from celebrating Chinese New Year, thanksgiving 

And from Christmas, Easter, and Halloween 

I am from celebrating family birthdays, friend’s birthdays 

And from spending time with family and friends

I am from having lots of nicknames, 

And from being a good friend 

I am from being a son, brother

And from being a grandchild

I am from COVID-19 separating us 

And from Black Lives Matter
