I am From a Welcoming Home

I am from a city with busy people running to work, and cars honking their way through traffic.

I am from a house that always feels like home because every time I come home I get a warm embracing hug, and when it is cold I get a nice steamy glass of hot cocoa.

I am from an unfinished table that gets new unique stains every time we eat.

I am from a house where I do homework in the wackiest places, like sprawled out on the floor, or behind the couch.

I am from a place where I can hope that my parents will live with me forever, and we can always care for each other.

I am from getting my parents to help whenever I get perplexed, and feel like I can’t do my homework.

I am from flavorful, delightful and delicious roast mutton that’s smell fills the whole house.

I am from Aji resting on the side but it still feels like she doesn’t trust us to cook.

I am from traveling to Maine every Summer

I am from spending time, partying, playing video games and dancing with our friends at New Years

I am from playing with American Girl Doll Horses with my sisters during Diwali.

I am from clarifying that my sisters are not my sisters, but are my cousins.

I am from being an annoying little sister.

I am from being a fun big sister.

I am from a place where Shai Shai is my name.

I am from a school where Sandwich is my name because my friends will never let me forget that I once dressed up as one.

I am from a house where I am an only child who doesn’t want it any other way.

I am from a house where I am a daughter that gets such an extensive amount of  love.

I am from a house where everyone is a Patriots enthusiast.

I am from sitting with my dad every Sunday and watching football.

I am from kind, talented, creative, imaginative people.

I am from “mask on” and COVID tests every day.

I am from “Ava adores you”.

This is where I am from.
