I am from a home with breathtaking views of downtown SF watching the clear blue sky form as the new day starts,
and I moved from Brooklyn, New York to San Francisco.
I have sharp stairs and when I’m in a rush I fall on my shins and in immense amounts of pain.
I am from hoping never to have to do treacherous homework again.
I hope to live in the busy New York streets with cars going around every second.
I am from hoping to have a good job when I grow up,
and from mouth-watering sausage bread every Christmas morning with some spicy hot sauce.
I am from Friday night movie comedies and hot pizza that sinks in your mouth every Friday night,
and from an endless appetite for pretzel sticks.
I am from rushing out the door for school and grabbing a steaming hot bagel.
I am from a Friday night’s with blazing hot cheesy pizza that sinks in your mouth,
And from going to Greenport New York where it is country all over and beautiful beaches for every summer and Thanksgiving.
I am from endless tries of my family saying “no” to whatever I say we should dress up as in Halloween,
and from annoying parents and babysitters saying, “Abe do your homework” and “Abe, focus.”
I am from people that are working saying, “Abe, be quiet”!
And from my sister telling me I’m annoying while me not listening
I am from a crazy pandemic with vaccines going out by the second,
and from quarantine still happening and they lowered the 6 feet rule in the schools.
I am from Covid-19 cases going down and finally going back to almost normal in sports,
and from the inhuman-like basketball player Steph Curry beating the high score for points ever in the NBA.
I am from cops killing unarmed and innocent people.
THIS IS WHERE I’M FROM.
