Dog Gone Jetskiing

“Vrrrrrrrrrrr!” A truck pulled up in our driveway with something on the back. The driver came out and showed my humans what it was. they handed over a few green pieces of paper and I wondered what it was. It looked sort of like a boat so I tried to go out there and investigate but my humans wouldn’t open the door, they said it was a surprise for tomorrow and I was wondering if it was for the lake we were going to but I couldn’t be sure.

The next morning I got in our car. My humans had loaded it up with food, water, two paddleboards and what I saw yesterday.

When we got to the lake we laid out the blankets on the beach and used an electric pump to blow up the paddleboards. Then one of my humans snuck past me but I didn’t notice.

“Wazat?” I asked as a roaring noise came from the distance, as the thing got closer I could see a figure riding it. The thing sounded like my humans sound when I do my business where they sleep, but this was louder than that so I Commander Cookie did what all dogs do in the face of danger-I barked. “Aaerrrrf! aaerrrf! Aaerrrf!”.  As it got closer still I noticed that the figure was my human so I stopped barking. What my human was riding on was what I saw yesterday it was …

A  JETSKI! Once I got on the jetski, one of my humans gunned the engine and took off! At first it was fun zooming around on the lake but then my human said “Lets do a big turn now!”

I barked and he whipped around and I lost my grip! The next thing I knew I was paddling for my life but then my human scooped me up and out of the water and said “Sorry Cookie” as he drove us back to the beach.

On our way home I noticed my human was drooping his head. At home he went to his bed but didn’t go to sleep so I went over to comfort him.

“Hi Cookie”he said “sorry about today” then he fell under the spell of sleep.

The next day we had a big breakfast and I wondered what we were doing today, then we got in the car with the jetski and suddenly I realized what we were doing- we were going to the lake again.

When we got there I reluctantly got on the jetski because I didn’t want to make my human to be sad then he slowly drove it around the lake and I have to admit- it was cool but then my human said what I was dreading “lets go faster!”

So he went fast and it was ok until he started turning so I closed my eyes and I thought like I was going to die but then I opened my eyes and to my surprise we were going slowly around the bend I and barked and he said “That was fun wasn’t it”?

I barked again and from that day forward I was never nervous about any jetski again
