Chapter 1
Audition
Olivia (Nicky’s big sister) and Nicky(Oliva’s little sister), walked to the circus for Olivia’s audition. When they got to the circus, it was a big white tent with rad stripes.
“What is that smell?” asked Nicky, smelling the inside of the tent.
“It smells like cotton candy…yum” answered Olivia, then she trip on a piece of popcorn. “Owch!”
“Are you ok?” asked Nicky, helping her up.
“I’m ok.” Olivia and Nicky walked to a room where the audition was.
Olivia got dressed for her audition: pink leotard and purple shoes (she has longish blond hair with purple tips).
“Everyone get ready! It starts in 10 min! Here’s the schedule,” said the stage manager. He handed them out. It said:
“The Jugglers: 1:00pm-1:15:Tony, 1:15-1:30: Katie, 1:30-1:45: Mac and Mikey. The Hula Hoopers: 2:00-2:30: Stasy, Tresy and Lasy. The trapeze artist: 2:30-3:30:Olivia and 3:30- 4:30:Mia.”
“Oh no! I need to go at 4:00 to go to my little sister’s ballet recital!” said Mia. Olivia heard Mia, she walked over to Mia and said “You can take my spot, 2:30-3:30. I’m Olivia.”
She put her hand out and Mia took it and said “I’m Mia and Thank you!”
“No problem!” The jugglers went on, then the hula hoopers and then Mia. When it was Olivia’s turn she took a deep breath and went upstairs and got ready. She jumped and did flips and then she did The Amazing Flying Slingshot! Then she was done.
“That was awesome!” Nicky said.
“Thanks. I hope I get in the circus.” Oliva said, crossing her fingers.
“You will!” Nicky said hopefully. Olivia got dressed in her regular clothes: purple top and pink bottoms. Then they went home.
The next day, Oliva and Nicky were walking to the ‘circus board.’(Bulletin board), it had a piece of paper. It said:
“Jugglers: Katie and Mac and Mikey. Hula hoopers: Stacy, Tresy and Lasy. Trapeze artists: Oliva and Mia.“
“I’m in!!” said Oliva in an excited voice.
The next day, Olivia went to practice.
“Hi!” Olivia shouted to Mia, so that she could hear Olivia.
“Hi!” Mia shouted back. Olivia walked closer to Mia.
“How did your little sister’s ballet recital go?” asked Olivia.
“Good, I also take ballet, do you take ballet?” asked Mia.
“Yes, it helps with my tricks, but I like being in the circus better, I really like to ‘fly’.” answered Olivia.
Just then, the ringmaster called them over. They came over and the ringmaster said, “young ladies, after seeing you try out, I have decided you have to make up a routine together. That is just 3 week away, get on it!” Then he walked away.
Chapter 2
The first circus show?
It was the first show at the circus. Olivia was sooo excited, but at the same time, she was nervous. She peeked out the curtain and saw a big crowd with cotton candy and popcorn, and in the middle, she saw Nicky. The stage was big and round. Now, she was more nervous than ever.
“Are you scared?”
“Ahh!!” Olivia screaming/whispering, so that the others couldn’t hear her.
“You scared me!”
“Sorry, so..are you scared or are you not?” asked Mia.
“Umm….little bit,” amited Olivia, “how bout you?” Olivia asked back.
“Yes, ” Mia answered, “I know really hard to create the best routine. We are going to be the best.”
“I hope everything goes great!” said Katie.
“Me too.”said Mac.
“Everyone get ready!, the show starts in 5 minutes!”
Olivia and Mia took a deep breath and walked to the area where the spot to stand and to wait (Olivia was on the right and Mia was on the left). It was time for the show, Olivia, Mia and everyone else heard:
“Ladies and gents, welcome to Circus de la: light and colors!” (That’s the theme of the year). The crowd clapped for about a minute. After they clapped, that was their cue, they nodded at each other, then hold onto their ropes and a hole opened. They dropped down and they swung at each other, Mia swung in the front and Olivia swung in the back, while rainbow lights were circling around them. Then they swung back to the ceiling. They twirled and tumbled so more, then dismounted with a big bow. All of that hard work paid off, it was perfect! The audience cheered.
Just at that moment, smoke began to fill the air. Olivia and Mia ran to find Nicky, they grabbed her hands. Coughing and crying, they ran out of the tent. There was a terrible fire! Olivia breathed so much smoke, she had to go to the hospital. Luckily Mia and Nicky were fine.
Chapter 3
The party!!!?
A couple days later, Olivia felt better. Nicky walked to the hospital, opened the door and walked into the patient’s room to Olivia.
“ How are you?” asked Nicky.
“I feel a little better,” said Oliva.
“Good.” Nicky said. She walked to Olivia’s doctor. “Is she ready to go home?”
“She will be ready in a few hours.” said Dr. Mimi.
“Ok” said Nicky. She walked over to Olivia. “Bye! I will come to pick you up in a few hours, ok?”
“Ok.” said Olivia in a quiet voice.
A few hours later.
“I’m back!” said Nicky, opening the door to Dr. Mimi’s office.
“Hi,Nicky!, your sister is in the waiting room.” Dr. Mimi said.
“Ok. Thank you!” Nicky said and went out the door.
Olivia was sitting on a chair.
“Hi Nicky.” said Olivia in a little voice.
“Hi, let’s meet up with your ‘circus team’. They are waiting for us in the part-um-park.” Suddenly, Nicky’s phone rang. It said:
‘We’re not ready! We will be ready at…5:00pm.’ It was 4:00, Nicky texted:
‘So, in an hour?”
The circus ‘team’ texted:“Yes” .
“Actually, let’s go home first. Mia is waiting for us.” said Nicky.
“Ok.” said Oliva. They went home.
“Let’s get you something to change into.” They walked to Oliva’s room. “HI Olivia.” Mia said, “how are you?” They walked to the closet in Olivia’s room. “How about this!?” said Nicky, Nicky was holding a dress that was purple with glittery see-through sleeves.
“It’s fancy,” said Oliva.
“Ha Ha, yeah… ummm…” Nicky thought of something quick to say “You know that whenever someone comes home from the hospital in our family,…um you are supposed to wear a fancy dress/suit. Hee hee.”
“But, you didn’t wear fancy dress when you came home from the hospital when you broke your arm.” Oliva pointed out.
“Well.. that was because..um..I couldn’t get it over my cast. Duhh!”
“Well fine.” Olivia got dressed and then they walked to the park.
“Where is everyone?” asked Olivia, “is that a party going on? But nobody is here at the party.”
“I don’t know, they got to be here somewhere, and there is a party but not for us, ” Nicky answered in a loud sound so that they could hear her.
Katie heard Nicky and said in a quiet sound, “everyone listen up, when I count down from 3, we jump up and say: ‘happy get back from the hospital day’ ok?” (‘Happy get back from the hospital day’, Katie said it in an unsure way).
“Ok.” everyone said in a quiet voice.
“Three, two and one!”
“Happy get back from the hospital day!”
“Thank you!!” said Olivia in a happy voice. Olivia Whispered in Nicky’s ear, “it this why you said to wear this?”, pointing to her dress. Nicky did a little nod.
The party had two tables, one was the food table and the other one was the arts and crafts table. On the food table there were cupcakes, cotton candy and popcorn. On the arts and crafts table there were paper, paints, pens, glitter and ribbon. Everyone was making posters that said: Circus de la is coming back!!!
Just then, the ringmaster yelled out: “listen up everyone, I have an announcement for you. Our tent may be gone, but we are still going to perform. I have a surprise for you, everyone turn around and look on the street.”
Everyone looked and saw the most amazing circus train waiting to take them across the land. The cars were all the colors in the rainbow. There were sleeping cars, food cars and animal cages. Then, the conductor said “all aboard!” Everyone didn’t think twice, they ran to the train , saying “goodbye!!!!!” It was going to be the beginning of a great new story
