I am From

I am from cleaning the dirty dishes and making the unmade beds

From admiring the identical apartments and listening to the street cleaning

I am from hearing my brother yell at computer and Seeing the Paint Splattered on the street fade away

I am from seeing Beautiful Sunsets and feeling bad for people with Tickets on their cars

From looking at Broken Lamps and Ceiling Lights and listening to Tantrums

I am from enjoying my Quiet Neighborhood and getting scared over Crashes

From Swinging in front of my house on the Swing on the tree and The loud Parties

I am from not sleeping due to Loud fire alarms and from Remembering the times that I was told to Feed my dog

From being told to Brush my hair and from being shaken out of bed to Wake up

I am from being to Make my bed and being told to Clean the dishes

From being told to Clear my plate and from being yelled at to Finish my homework when I am already working on it

Being told to Stop reading and go to bed and from being told to go to sleep when I just woke up to get a glass of water

I am from Chomping down on a Burrito while waiting for the movie to start and from having Spaghetti almost every night

I am from slurping down Soup while reading a book and Eating Tacos as slow as I can to savor the flavor

I am from eating Mongolian Beef very often because we don’t know what else to eat and from eating my moms homemade Fried Rice

From eating Chow Mein because they ran out of spicy sauce for the Mongolian Beef and from eating Pizza because my brother is too stubborn to eat anything else

I am from eating Sushi after bribing my brother with money and from eating Salad when my parents are too tired or sick to cook

From the lucky nights when we get Teriyaki Chicken and from the everlasting supply of Rice I am from the Chicken that we have every week

From Turkey on Thanksgiving, from early  Christmas mornings, counting down on New Year’s Eve,  and the almost yearly trips that we travel to a new country

This is where I’m from
