Decisions!

Clip, clap, the usual sound of running on the soft dirt in the Presidio. Surrounded by redwoods the dust shooting up like bullets soaring through the air, it was the end of the fifth mile and everyone was exhausted, the salty sweat dripping down our faces, the sweet smell of redwoods filling our noses, finally ending up at the field. As usual each boy had a parent each calling out their names(cooper peter)Except me.I’ve always had drum practice after cross country. Getting there is pretty much like bonus running because it’s another five miles. My drum practice is in fort mason, my drum teachers named Amanda, the company is very flakey so I barely ever get lessons.”Hi amanda”, i said as i walked in.”Hi Arthur”,Amanda replied. We are working on back in black by acdc. It is a pretty simple drum beat, but to everyone else it seems very hard, I don’t understand why? Drum practice is fifty five minutes long.

When I got home I went straight upstairs to bed, but before I knew it I felt stomping all over my back, “wake up,” my sister yelled “good morning”Goldie I replied, “brush your teeth,” she yelled “brush your teeth” she repeated, “Okay okay” I said, as I got out of bed.

After school when I got home my  cross country instructor was waiting at my door with a disappointed  face “Hey Arthur” “hey coach”, I responded “we have to talk”, “okay” I replied in a worried voice. “Well your drums is affecting cross country, it just seems like you have your mind on something else”. “So what are you saying I replied”? “Well basically i’m saying you have to pick”!

The next day as I was walking to school I saw Amanda walking down the  street opposite to me. She seemed unhappy. “Hey amanda,” I shouted from across the street. She smiled vaguely then started speed walking away. At school I was playing at the playground when I saw a cross country team of probably seven year olds but a coach kept yelling at them for practically no reason. As I looked closer I realized it was my coach yelling at them.

When everyone was arriving  I ran up to my coach and said “hey coach I saw you at jackson park”. “What,” he replied, Yeah I go to Live Oak School just across the street it looked like those seven year olds where having a lot of fun. Yeah sorry about that, he responded. No no it’s okay it seems like you taught them right. Yeah thanks.

At drum practice I walked in to Amanda’s office and said um I need to tell you about the elephant in the room. I need to pick between drums or cross country.

The next day after school I saw my coach again and told him if I can’t do cross country and drums  I quit. As I walked off my couch yelled hey I can move your time he admitted, thank you so much I yelled as I ran back to him.

Next week when I was running drum practice I saw my mom at the whole foods across the street. Hi mom i said to her, Arthur I didn’t expect to see you here. Yeah I go to drum practice right there, as I pointed to my drum practice building. Yeah right sorry anyway I don’t want to get you late to drum practice. Bye mom I shouted as I ran across the street. Right when I got inside I noticed that it looked like no one had been there in a while. Amanda I shouted as I walked through the deserted building, Amanda I shouted again as I walked up stairs I noticed a piece of paper lying on the ground it read, if you are reading this you are trespassing and shall be arrested at once.

With that I ran out of the building for my life. The next day at school the water fountains weren’t working when I was trying to refill my water bottle and I kind of needed it because to join the different cross country team you have to run five miles each recess and that’s a bit much for me. At home i ran right to the television because a new season of hunter street had come out but right as I sat down I fell straight to sleep.

                          THE END!
