We are more powerful because we have survived,” Elodia said walking around us.
I’ve heard she is the most powerful creature to walk among us, so don’t be fooled by her soft majestic voice. I wiped my sweat off my forehead as she approached me.
“Who are you darling, and what’s your purpose?” she asked me.
“My name is Sema, and I’ve escaped from The Force. My purpose…. I still don’t know it,” I replied.
I was a new face to this community, but I knew I had the one thing that protects all of us. I looked around the small dim room. Their tsunami of stares killed me.
“Come back here, young lady!” the man with a grey cap and a sword demanded.
My left arm was gone, so things right now weren’t the best for me. I was weak and tired of these people, and I had finally realized it.
I was just another one of their experiments, though they promised that would protect me from all the harm that was happening on my planet, and all the harm that could happen to me here on planet Earth.
Who are they kidding? They only want to make themselves valuable and get themselves out of the trouble they got themselves into on my planet, using MY powers.
Disgusting.
The last thing I remember was kicking the guy in the stomach, and flying out of there, my hand still bleeding. And now I’m here, trying to figure out my purpose.
Elodia was the one who found me. She brought me here, to the little cottage away from everybody. At least that is what she says.
When she opened the door, it was like a room filled with mirrors. Some people looked exactly like me. Bright colored wings, bruised, and some even with one lost body part. It wasn’t pretty to look at, but at least I felt safer being in the presence of others who were just like me. The crackling fire and welcoming handshakes made me feel warm.
I sat in the corner though. The feeling of warmth in this room was no match for the last words my sister said to me: “Trust nobody.”
Why have I proceeded to trust these people?
My sister wasn’t biological to me. I just thought of her as my sister. Her name was 5eve. She was another girl in the facility, and she still is. I left her behind trying to save my life. Selfish, I know, but I promised that I would come back for her. I will go back…. and soon.
I never realized what they were doing to us, even if it was all right in front of me. 5eve helped me realize that. In the facility, we made our communication system, and we would use it when everybody else was asleep. Her cage was on the right of mine, and that was how we met.
One day in particular, though, she talked to me about the black-caped guy and a plan he had that included me. Something about how my wings would be the perfect kind of power to defeat the foxlion in our planet, one of the most powerful creatures to ever exist. They needed to cut my wings off… meaning taking my life away. She also heard them talking about doing the same to our friends. 5eve thought it was a good idea to get me out of there, which leads me to the situation I am in. I don’t know what’s worse: my ignorance and fear, or their manipulative force. My sister wasn’t the only one left there; in total there were over 800 of us. My sister made me promise to get them free as well; we were all miserable there, and it wasn’t fair to leave anyone behind. Especially when they were planning to do these things to everybody one day. So I promised myself to bring them somewhere safer.
