Save or Be Sad

Humans love things. People want all the things. That’s why I’m here to tell you about how it’s a good thing to save money to get the things and how I suggest people to save money. Nathan W. Morris is a financial coach who helps people achieve financial freedom. He once said, “Every time you borrow money, you’re robbing your future self.” With that I hope you enjoy my essay.

Everyone has wanted something before. Well, something that having saved money does is, it gives you the ability to buy something whenever you want, and I understand if you don’t have any extra money to save but if you do have that extra money I’m here to convince you to save it. So, you may be thinking, “How do you save money?” or “What’s an efficient way to save money?” One way is to just set aside a small part of your income like just 20%. In very little time you can build up a decent chunk of saved money. So, when you want something you’ll be able to get it. Say you use or need public transportation. Public transportation costs money, like most things, sadly. So if you want to be able to get places whenever you need you’re going to need money on hand or money that you’ve saved. Secondly, you need food. If you don’t get food, you die. Simple. If you don’t have money you can’t get food. Also, simple. You’re not always going to get money whenever you need it and you need food all the time. So, there is another reason to save. Now my last thought, Do you like getting gifts? I think most people do. Well, most all gifts cost money. So, if you want to be nice and get someone a gift you’ll need to save money and this is just the start to my thoughts on saving money.

When you spend your money as soon as you get it, you’ll never be able to buy something that’s more expensive than what you’ve always gotten. It’s reasonable to not want something expensive but if you do need something expensive you need to save money. The reason why this is important is because things aren’t always going to be cheap and you may be wondering how does this connects to my first point. Well, the reason why this connects to my original point is because you aren’t always going to get big chunks of money therefore you won’t be to get expensive things if things aren’t always cheap. And now you may be thinking, “What expensive things are really a necessity?” Well, what about — these apply to adults, mostly — a car or vehicle? People need vehicles to get around and cars and bikes are expensive. In fact, the average car costs around $35,285. This opinion is malleable, some people want to look for something to buy as soon as they get money but however I think differently.

If you need something exigently, you won’t have to worry. Like even though it’s addictive to spend money, sometimes it’s good to save. People need money immediately in different situations and if you need money immediately you won’t have time to get money. So, you’re going to need saved money if you end up in one of the situations that I’m about to name. Number one isn’t always needed that urgently depending on your landlord, if you have one. If not, skip to number two. You need to pay your rent. If it’s time to pay your rent and you have no money then what do you do? You can’t do anything except go into debt and try to pay it off. That’s why you need to save money so when it’s time to pay your rent you can afford it. Number two, to pay your bills, like your water and electricity bills. You need water and you want other things and those cost money. Not only do they cost money they cost money at a certain time and again, if you don’t have money at that certain time you either don’t get water and/or light or you go into debt. Nobody wants to go into debt. So, I suggest you save money to pay for housing and stuff. Number three, if you get injured, how are you going to pay for your medical bill if you don’t have saved money? That is a huge reason to save money. Number four, if you have a vehicle that break  down you’re going to need to repair it. You don’t want to wait to repair it. So, you use your saved money to repair it as soon as possible. Those are four reasons to save money for urgent situations.

All things considered, it is a very good thing to save money. I suggest you do save money because I believe that you will be able to do many things in your life that can make you happy and I believe everyone should be very happy. I’m just a kid but I thank you for reading my essay and I hope you have a great day. With a perspective, I’m Cormac and you’re watching the Disney Channel.
