I am from waking up in the morning with my dad playing soft, yet loud jazz music outside my room
I am from a foggy city where the fog lights up in the orange street lights at night in an eerie way
I am from waking up with thick fog outside my window
I am from my little sister calling me downstairs to watch tv with her
I am from a quiet street in the chaotic city
I am from hoping that the long drowsy Covid can end soon
I am from eating orange chocolate Jaffa cakes when I visit my family in London
I am from going to the loud culture filled Dickens fair every christmas
I am from FaceTiming my friends when I’m bored and them asking to hang out
I am from my parents shouting MARABELLE and me wondering what i have done this time
I am from my friends asking me how much sugar I have had
I am from snuggling a large warm cat named Teeny when I need something to hug
I am from walking up to the top of a hill in my neighborhood and feeling the cool wind brush my face
I am from walking up to a pool and jumping right in with no time to think
I am from walking through the empty halls of the school in the morning
I am from reading on my couch weather it’s a cold foggy day or a sunny day, in which I would open the window and let the warm air drift in
I am from sitting in the park on a summer day and watching the trees, grass, and the buildings just scraping the go of the sky, go by.
This is where I’m from
