We were almost halfway across the country when I saw a sign that said The Bridges Hotel 5 miles north. That hotel was going to be the Hotel we stayed at for 2 nights. It was supposed to have a water park, and has the world’s largest lounge. With video games to crazy costume dance parties. It was going to be amazing.
“We’re here!” My dad said with relief, as he drove up to the front of the hotel. I could tell my dad was tired. He’d been driving for two days straight without any sleep.
“WOW”!! my mom said with eyes as big as a mountain. As my dad stepped out of our SUV he got into the biggest stretch position I’d ever seen. The rest of us got out of the car and I now understood why my mom said WOW.
Standing 34 stories high, crystal clear shiny blue windows, and super luxurious this was the nicest hotel I’ve been to, like ever.A man came over in a black tuxedo and grabbed our bags from our trunk and put them on a trolley. But as he was walking away I noticed that he was wearing sunglasses that were the darkest black I’d ever seen. I noticed that all the other staff were wearing sunglasses too, the same big dark sunglasses.
I took a big look at the lobby with waterfalls and beautiful green plants, but the most eye-catching thing was a gigantic statue of Thomas Kilter, the founder of the hotel.
I could just imagine how much Bugatti’s and Lamborghini’s he ownd, he probably had like a whole kitchen of private chefs.
After we checked in, Mom gave all of us a keycard that could only access our room, the lounge, the workout room and money for the arcade machines. Mom told us that we could go to the lounge while our room was getting ready.
“Race you there” I told Deven.
“Deal” Deven said. As we ran into the lounge I could tell why this was the biggest lounge in the world. The walls were chrome black, and the ceiling curved up into a dome, the lights inside were purple and white.
“What game do you want to play?” I asked
“JURASSIC KINGDOM” Deven shouted.
“Me too” I said. Right after Me and Devin scanned our keycards to start the game, the ground began to shake, and the room began to spin. Then it just stopped.
“What just happened?” Deven said with a scared look on his face. It was the same look when grandma was in the hospital.
“I dunno,” I said completely confused. It was strange. Everything was still in place, and everybody was acting like nothing happened Plus none of the staff were wearing sunglasses anymore. Weird I thought.
“Let’s go outside,” I said. I grabbed Devens arm and we ran outside. But Same thing, all the staff weren’t wearing sunglasses nor anyone was hurt, it was like we were in an alternate world
I walked up to a staff member and asked politely where my parents were, whitch was probably not the best idea. The staff member turned around and I saw she had Pure black eyes, I gasped! The staff member said “hello do you need anything?” In a creepy weird voice. I was so scared I ran away not knowing the staff member was chasing after me, then I noticed Deven was gone!
“Help” I screamed. I knew that would do no good. Mom and dad were nowhere and so was Deven, they could be in our room I thought? I ran as fast as I could to our room. I could feel the staff members’ cold pale hands on my shoulder, finally I got to room 215 opened the door then slammed the door so hard the staff members’ fingers fell off. I closed my eyes.
When I opened my eyes It was pitch darkness with fog,
“Mom, Dad, Deven?” I shouted. No response. but I did see someone Right in front of me. A shadowy figure was walking towards me, slowly.
“Hello” the figure said.
“Back away” I said.
“I’m not going to hurt you.” the figure said in a kind calm voice.
“Who are you?” I asked
“The name’s Elli” the figure said stepping out of the shadows. Elli smiled, a big wide smile not showing any of her teeth.
“Where am I?” I asked
“My room of course” she said. I stared at her dark green eyes.
“Please tell me where I am really at!” I demanded
“My room!” Elli said
“No this is my room and my family just checked in here today, July 14 2018” I protested.
“Wait did you just say 2018”
“Duh, what year do you think it is 1962.” I said
“Yeah” Elli said, looking like I said something completely stupid. “I have no idea what you’re talking about. The year is 1962 and president John F Kennedy sent me and my family to this hotel to stay for the big game tomorrow.” Elli explained.
“Wait, wait wait. You are from the year 1962 and you met John F Kennedy. And You literally look and did the exact same things my grandma Elli Thompson did.” I said shocked
“Well that’s because I am.” Elli said
“Your mu-mu my grandmother” I said embarrassed.
“At your service” Elli suluted. I almost couldn’t believe that my grandma (well the younger version) was right in front of me.
“Well gran- “don’t call me that” Elli interrupted
“Well Elli all I really want to know is where my parents and brother are.” I asked.
“Fine” Elli sighed. “There at the Elisha pyramid in Egypt” Elli said
“But we don’t have a car nor any money.” I said confused
“Oh we don’t need any money” Elli exclaimed, pointing at a blueish purplish circle of darkness.
