The Summer Camp

by Tavis Michaels

Timmy sprinted to the car and jumped in.

“Will we be late?” said Timmy.

“I think we’ll be just on time,” said Timmy’s father. It would be a glorious summer for Timmy, he was going to summer camp and he was so exited he would have a great time. It would be a blast going to Camp Creekwood. It was a twenty-six minute drive.

“I’m so happy!” Timmy shouted.

“It’ll be great playing with new friends,” Timmy called out. Then twenty six minutes later they were there at Camp Creekwood. Timmy got his stuff and jumped out. The first thing Timmy saw was Evergreen trees, a water slide and a big wooden house. Timmy ran to the big wooden house and saw a sign on the door that said, Counselors Office.

Timmy creaked open the door and said, “Is anyone there?”

A voice called back saying, “Hello, I’m Henry.   I’m one of the counselors here, come in.” Timmy was shaking in fear. He slowly stepped into the big wooden house taking one step at a time, quiet as a mouse. He saw three rooms with signs on each one of them.

First, Timmy went over to the first room. It said  Michaels Office. He went to the other room and it said, Jack’s Office. Timmy slowly walked over to the third room, took a deep breath and opened the door that said Henry’s Office.

Timmy said, “Hello I’m Timmy.”

Timmy heard a voice say “Hi Timmy, I’m Henry. How is your day going?”

“Fine,” Timmy replied.

“What should I do now?” Timmy asked.

“Go to the food house, it’s a big building,” said Henry.

Timmy walked out of the counselors office and looked around to try and find a big building. Then after about four minutes of trying to find the big house Timmy saw a sign that said, Food House this way. Timmy walked the way the sign said and saw a giant house. Timmy walked inside. It was a big building with counters full of food on them. He saw kids munching on all sorts of nutritious and delicious food. It looked great. Timmy ran to the counter and asked the lunch lady, “Can I have some food?”

“Do you want chicken, salmon, or salad?” The lunch lady asked.

“I’ll haavve, salad please,” Timmy said. The lunch lady scooped a bunch of green gooey salad on to his plate. Then Timmy tried to find a table but it looked like all the tables were full. Timmy spotted an empty table in the corner and walked over. He sat down and shoved a mouth full of salad in his mouth and immediately Timmy felt a horrible disgusting feeling going down his throat. It was sloshing in his mouth and he thought he would puke out green disgusting gooey salad. His face was turning green. People were laughing like they had an evil plan to destroy the world. Once the madness was over Timmy walked to the trash and threw the salad away.

“I’m not having that again,” Timmy said. “That was gross.” Timmy decided he would just wait to the end of lunch. In five minutes it would be time for sports like Basketball, Soccer, and Tennis.

Then five minutes later Timmy jogged to the field and found a crowd of kids there. He ran to the crowd of kids and he saw a counselor. The counselor had a name tag it said Michael so Timmy pushed through the crowd to find Michael.

Michael said “We are now going to play soccer.” The crowd roared, cheered and celebrated, they were so happy. In thirty seconds Timmy was on the soccer field. Next thing Timmy knew, the ball was in play. Timmy was bad at soccer and he was goalie. One kid kicked the ball with all his might and Timmy jumped out of the way right before the ball would hit his face. To make a long story short the other team scored. It happened like that the rest of the game. Timmy felt terrible, he just wanted to quit. Timmys teammates weren’t being much help either. They were yelling at him to block the ball. They were calling him names like Overrated, Constipated Pencil Eater and Potato Salad. Timmy didn’t like it at all. He thought he would blow up like a volcano.

After sports Timmy found out he had cabins. Timmy thought everyone was just going to be crammed in one big house, but he was wrong. He was in a cabin with five other kids, two were really big, two were regular and one was super tiny. Timmy made nicknames for them. The big ones were The Big Bad Wolves. The middle ones were The Apples. Then the tiny one waaas Shrimp.

The first thing Timmy did in his cabin was got everything assembled. It was time for swimming in the lake. Timmy got super excited because they were able to use the water slide. At least that’s what he thought. They had to do laps in the lake. The kids were harassing Timmy while he was swimming laps. The swim instructor said to gather round after his laps so he did. The instructor said, “Tomorrow we will have a swim test.” Timmy groaned. Then it was time to get out of the lake. Timmy really didn’t want to do what they had to do next it was survival skills. They had to build a fire and put it out using sticks and rocks. It was exhausting. It took so long. After that they had dinner. It was steak with oranges and salad. Timmy passed on the salad. The steak was decent and the oranges were good. After dinner Timmy went to his cabin and fell asleep in the blink of an eye.

In the morning Timmy woke up to a loud and big horn. It went hoooonnnnnnnkkkk! It was so loud. Timmy got up and went outside to get ready for a new day.

“Today ought to be better than yesterday!“ Timmy said. “Yesterday was the worst.” The first thing Timmy had was roll call. When a counselor said Timmy’s name he said here. Timmy had breakfast, it was waffles with syrup and a side of fruit. It was good. Timmy went to the obstacle course next. Timmy tried to avoid the mean kids. It was hopeless, the mean kids were making him fail on purpose. After the obstacle course Timmy had wood shop. It was in a little wooden house. Timmy made a bowl. It was time for lunch. There was chicken and stew. Timmy passed on the stew because it was green, yellow and brown. It looked like a jellyfish had died in there.

Next Timmy had sports. It was volleyball. Like soccer, Timmy did horrible. Everyone called him names and was mean.  After volleyball Timmy had his least favorite part of the day, swimming. He had to do the swim test. Swimming was his least favorite part of the day for two reasons one the water was freezing and two Timmy’s coach was a psycho. To make a long story short Timmy failed the swim test. Next it was survival skills. He had to start a fire and put it out. Basically they were doing the same thing that they did yesterday but with a water bucket. One kid had an idea to pour the water from the bucket onto Timmy’s pants. Timmy did not think this was funny. His face was turning red while he got madder and madder.

After survival skills Timmy went to dinner there was meatloaf and French fries. While Timmy was eating his meatloaf he got an idea. It was perfect he was going to play a prank on the kids who were mean to him because Timmy was so fed up with those kids being mean to him. When Timmy got to his cabin he started to set up for his prank, it would be good. He got a piece of wire, duck tape and some cardboard and set up his traps.

The first prank Timmy setup was the bugs in the bed prank. Timmy slowly sneaked into the group three cabin and creeped to the bed, Timmy slowly poured the sack of bugs onto the bed. Then Timmy slowly snuck out of the cabin. The second prank was the super pranksters ultra spicy itching cream prank or you could call it the itching cream prank for short. Timmy slowly tip-toed over to the cabinet in the group six cabin and swapped the labels on the deodorant and the super pranksters ultra spicy itching cream. Then Timmy went to his own cabin and fell asleep.

The next day during lunch the kids who got pranked thought about who pranked them. First they thought it was this kid named Oscar. Then they thought it was a kid named Ryan. Then they knew who it was, it was Timmy. They were coming for Timmy. Timmy was dead meat. He got a black eye and got stuffed in a trash can. It probably was the worst day of Timmy’s life. Timmy decided to talk to Henry the counselor. Timmy went to Henry’s office and opened the door. Timmy told Henry everything about the bullying.

When Timmy was done talking Henry said, “You should be nice to them and they might be nice back.”

“Really, you think it’ll work?” Timmy said.

“Yes,” Henry replied. Timmy ran out of the house and was ready to be really, really nice. The next day Timmy was super ultra nice. For example, he let the mean kids go first in line and stuff like that. Guess what, the mean kids were nice. Timmy had done it. Timmy had made so many great and fun memories with his new friends like swimming and telling jokes.

When camp was over Timmy walked to his dad’s car. “How was camp?” Timmy’s dad asked.

“It rocked,” Timmy replied. Timmy had the best summer ever, it was a blast. Timmy wanted to go to the camp again next summer.

The end.
