Early Years
Michelle Obama was born in Chicago, Illinois. She was born January 17, 1964. She had an older brother. Her family didn’t have a lot of money, but they worked hard. Michelle Obama’s childhood was pretty ordinary. She learned how to read when she was four years old. Michelle Obama skipped second grade. She always loved school.
Life as an adult
Michelle went to Princeton for college. She met Barack Obama at the law firm. They fell in love in 1992 and got married. Michelle Obama supported healthy eating in schools while she was 1st lady. She traveled to schools around the world to give speeches on the importance of healthy food for kids.
Accomplishments
Michelle Obama was the first black First Lady of the United States from 2008 to 2016. She created the “Let’s Move” movement which was launched in 2010 to help fight childhood obesity in the United states. It taught children and adults how to live healthier lives. She was also the only First Lady with two ivy league degrees.
Conclusion
Michelle Obama wrote books. She helped people by making programs for all ages to live a healthy life. When she was the first lady, Michelle Obama had bad comments said about her, but she ignored those comments and stayed true to herself.
