Celestial Sarah’s Adventure

Celestial Sarah went to the market every morning for a beautiful view of the sky. She loved everything in the sky. She loves the sun and stars, admires the wind and rain, and can spend hours staring at the sky. She always got a cookie and coffee from Star Cafe. After that, she went to work as a side weather reporter. She wanted to be more than that, though. She wanted to be the star of the show! Celestial Sarah doubted she could ever become the main weather reporter, since Vain Valeria was much better on camera. After work, Celestial Sarah would go home to her penthouse, where she could see the sky better, and eat a star-shaped sandwich. Celestial Sarah would study weather patterns, eat dinner, and go to sleep.

One day, Celestial Sarah noticed something. Her favorite star, Vega, was missing! Celestial Sarah vigorously wanted to find that star and prevail in this conflict. Celestial Sarah doubted herself. She couldn’t even be the main weather reporter, so how could she find a star? She thought about who would take a star when it hit her–it had to be Snub Suzy. Snub Suzy was jealous because she wanted to be a weather reporter. She knew that the star was her favorite. Snub Suzy was so rude, ignoring her all the time.

Celestial Sarah raced to the basement where Snub Suzy lived. She knocked but no one answered. She knew Snub Suzy was there because a TV was playing.

“I know you’re inside, Snub Suzy!” Celestial Sarah called. She heard a grunt as Snub Suzy got up to come to the door.

“What do you want?” Snub Suzy asked. She tried to see inside. On the kitchen table in a bowl with miscellaneous items was the star! It was glowing gold and purple sparks shot out around it. Snub Suzy saw Celestial Sarah’s eyes snooping. She closed the door. Only her face could be seen.

“I know you took my star. I can see it in your house,” Celestial Sarah hesitated. She never called people out like this. What if Snub Suzy lied? What could she do then?

“How dare you! That’s my grandmother’s glow-in-the-dark ring,” Snub Suzy responded. “It was probably Gallant Gale!” Celestial Sarah knew it wasn’t Gallant Gale; he was too kind. Before she could say anything else, Snub Suzy slammed the door.

Celestial Sarah doubted herself, feelin she could never complete anything. She decided that she would not give up. She called in sick the next day. Instead of going to Star Cafe, she waited outside Snub Suzy’s apartment. Snub Suzy was a nail artist and her work started at 10:00 AM. Celestial Sarah was sad to miss the beautiful view in the market this morning. Snub Suzy’s door opened and she left. Celestial Sarah was hiding behind a potted plant. Just before Snub Suzy’s door slammed closed, she grabbed it and slipped inside.

Celestial Sarah went up to the kitchen. She felt guilty for being in someone’s home, but then again Snub Suzy had stolen a star. She spotted the star in the bowl and grabbed it. It felt warm in her hands and she stuck it into her pocket. Celestial Sarah snuck out and ran to her penthouse. How would she get it back in the sky? She had an idea. She ran to her roof and waited until there was no breeze. She knew from weather reporting that to put a star back in place, you must throw it when there is no breeze and the sun is in the center of the sky. She threw it, and it glowed brighter than ever before.

Celestial Sarah felt brave and proud that she had saved a star. She felt like she could do anything. She told her story on the news, careful to leave out the part where she snuck into Snub Suzy’s house. The weather team loved it so much, they promoted Celestial Sarah to main weather reporter! Valeria was so jealous, she could hardly speak. She thought about all the times she had doubted herself. It all felt so silly now that she knew she could accomplish these things. Celestial Sarah knows now she should never doubt herself as she looks up at the star.

The End
