Dogs: More Important to Society Than People Think

If you really think about it,what would the world be like without dogs, help, or service and emotional support dogs? There would be no way to constantly have a companion that can help you with medical issues. Or if there was no one to help you would have to do everything on your own. Dogs are a key part of society whether you need them to benefit  you emotionally, physically, medically, or just to have as a fun companion. Service and emotional support dogs make it so you don’t have to find another harder way to control or regulate stress, anxiety, ptsd, panic attacks, or other medical issues such as epilepsy, autism, cancer, diabetes, and more. If that were the case, that we did not have service or emotional support animals then there would be a lot of differences in life such as going to the hospital more.

Dogs help us. That’s exactly what conan a belgian malinois military service dog did on October 26th 2019. Conan helped military forces track the ISIS leader al-Baghdadi down a tunnel during the raid in Syria. ”It was a Flawless attack”,  was one of the many praises appointed tourdes Conan. Though Conan was wounded during the mission, He has since made a full recovery. In the opposing point of view killing the ISIS leader with the help of a dog might be in some perspectives a bad thing. People might think it is a bad thing because some people might think killing is not a good way to end bad deeds, and that instead they should just be punished by going to Jail or Prison or even no punishment.

A Dog that is a service dog or an emotional support animal (support Dog) can  Help people who have PTSD,anxiety, stress, panic attacks and more. They help Veterans that have PTSD from being in a battlefield or war by providing emotional support. They can also alert their owners to medical issues by sensing hormonal changes. They can detect cancer and diabetes from smell alone. Dogs can also help with grief because they  can decrease Stress Hormone Cortisol. A service dog and an emotional support animal (support dog) are not the same thing. I have an emotional support animal (support dog) named Hope. She is a yorkshire terrier mix.She is a rescue dog found in fresno in a field while pregnant. She was trained to be a support dog by the rescue agency that found her. One thing she was trained to do is to be very calm, also when she sees you in stress or crying she comes up to you and is trying to comfort you.

One kind of service dog is a guide dog. Guide dogs benefit blind people by guiding them around. When you see a guide dog you are not supposed to pet or distract a guide dog in any way. Golden&Labrador retrievers as well as german shepherds are generally used as guide dogs because of their size.If a guide dog ignores you, don’t take it personally, they are trained to ignore certain things other dogs would get distracted by such as smell,Animals, and people.

So next time you see someone taking their dog into a restaurant instead of thinking “ugh they are just trying to get away with bringing their dog in”,think that without bringing that dog in their life could be in danger. Dogs help us.
