Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines Homelessness as having no home or permanent place of residence. I know that they’re a lot of people who guess that when you are homeless you get a house eventually, but being homeless is so much harder than you realize.
You Become Addicted To Drugs Easly. Some people use drugs as stress relievers, but you can easily get addicted if you have them often. That can manage to mental illnesses that will most likely (unless if you treat it) will keep you homeless, until you learn to stop. Drugs will make you consider corrupt thoughts and makes you mentally ill. That will make you want to become homeless. That’s one of the main causes of homelessness. The problems with mental illnesses are: (they’re a lot, so the main ones:) You don’t even want to get a job (your stuck being homeless), you won’t want to live in a shelter and that could be bad (you get sick or worse).
In some cases, you get addicted to drugs because of peer influence because it’s ‘cool’ amongst your friends (or peers). I feel in most cases that losing your home leads to depression, which is a mental disorder, and that causes major problems which would mean the homeless would have a lower chance of finding a home.
In most cases, the government doesn’t help much and it’s better than ‘Caring’.
The government has limits on things like shelters and food stamps. The government stops people who owe money from most benefits like shelters and affordable housing. People want to stay in vagabondage because it gives people a discernment of freedom, and safety.
People have trouble that they don’t/can’t get back to like fines, or broken trusts. Many people don’t get food stamps and other benefits that the government usually gives to other ‘eligible’ homeless.
Most people who come to the US from 2nd and 3rd world countries can’t easily get employed, for the most utmost of them, it’s because they are illegal immigrants who don’t have a home when they come and not much money either.
I understand that the government should help the homeless no matter what because others don’t enjoy having people living on the street because it just leads to more problems.
You can easily become displaced if you live in a large city, a city with a lack of affordable housing, or you come home from the army with no place to go. Some hard-to-live-with diseases you can get from the army are adjustment disorder, alcohol dependence, anxiety, bipolar disorder, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder. When some people come back from the army, they have little money so they have no choice. Some people without homes want to go to jail for better food and shelter, so being exiled incentivizes you to commit crimes.
You sometimes get ill or your already disabled. When you are disabled you can’t get a job. And with no job, it’s very hard to be in a home again. It’s not fair that people who are disabled can’t get a chance.
Living outside is also terrible, the average sidewalk (or park) is very smutty, and other homeless also might’ve slept there. Since their home is so dirty, they get very sick. Then you can’t get treatment for being sick or for your disability, then it gets worse and worse and you get other sick. On average a homeless person dies at age 44.
Homeless just leads to other problems that can become epidemics, like homelessness. If we don’t help the homeless, our future will have more problems and more people on the streets of our cities. We could help with it by giving people a choice by helping homeless go to college, get private shelter, and mental health help.
