Intro
On July 2nd 1989 a super soccer star was born, of course she was not a superstar yet.
Then she was a girl with two sisters, a mom and a dad in diamond bar california. Her name is alexandra (alex) patricia morgan.
Even as a baby she was tough and very stubborn. Even as a little girl she stayed that way. She was always prepared that “if I play sports I get injured”.
But she always looked on the bright side and saw the best of things. Though like everybody else had her own problems and bumps in the road. Her family was close and was always there for each other.
Early life
She grew up playing softball with her sisters jerry and jenny ( Jenny, Jeri, and Alex from oldest to youngest )
She always wanted to be a pro athlete. Then at age eight she started playing soccer. She didn’t know yet but it was a big change in her life.
At first her dad was her coach and her team was a group of mixed age girls. Then because of her speed and aggressiveness she joined a boys team. She was like a tomboy but she did not dress like a boy. She liked to play with them and beat them.
During the summer of 1999 world cup she was ten years old. She called it her golden summer. She watched all the games, but the final was on a whole different level.
Her favorite player was Kristine Lilly. She was the kind of forward Alex wanted to be. Lilly was fast, hardworking and could change the game instintally. Her quiet energy was contagious. She was a game changer and so was Alex.
At age 13 she tried out for her first club team. She made it! She played her first game with her club at 14. Her family supported her. And made it easier.
In high school she was very committed to soccer. In one game she tore her acl. It was devastating for her. Some people said that she would never play again but not for alex. She decided to get better and better and train harder. That was one of her problems that she had to be tough through. Like always she was tough through it . And that made her a better soccer player.
After her injury…….
She heard people in the crowd say wow she is so fast. The feeling of playing soccer after an injury was one of the best moments of her life. It was like she was free again. But she did not let that distract her. Then she was on the race to beat a defender and score the winning goal. In the crowd there was someone very important. Both of them did not know each other. They just told him to find a girl with great skill. As soon as he (the scouter) saw her play he knew she was the one. Then an uproar from the crowd. She beat the defender and made the goal… her team was in! Then the whistle blew and she started celebrating then a tap on her shoulder surprised her and just like that, she had a scholarship to Cal.
College
On her first day to tour Cal her friend Allison was there too. Allison ended up going to Stanford. Alex decided to go to Cal. Her sisters would visit and they would sometimes go to dinner together. They were very close.
At Cal she met this boy from San Diego. He became her boyfriend. He played on the men’s Cal team. She also was the star forward on the Cal team. She tried hard and was always there for her team. She brought the team to victory many times.

Soccer Career
She plays on the USA national soccer team (like professional.) Alex Morgan and her team are big change makers. They fight for their rights and equal pay. And they inspire many people.
Conclusion
Nobody is born with soccer skills. They practice and practice to get the level you want to be. They inspire people to be tough and hard working. If you play a sport follow their lesson and do not give up.
